Planning for the ROI of Coaching with Catherine A. Oleksiw, Ph.D., PCC

What effective methods do you know for measuring the results of coaching? This webinar will address several aspects of assessing the impact of coaching and will refer to the ROI Model developed by Jack Phillips of the ROI Institute.

  • What is the relationship between coaching and improved performance?
  • What is the basic framework for measuring change?
  • What elements of the coaching experience can be measured with enough certainty so the reported results are trusted and believed?
  • What data sources are used to track client performance?
  • What ethics are involved in data collection and reporting?
  • What are effective methods for reporting results?

Increasing your knowledge of these topics will begin to open the door to a better understanding of the design and rationale behind developing a plan to measure the ROI of coaching. The ROI model itself provides the framework for exploring the changes that take place with the individual and for the organization during and following coaching.

The ROI Model is not difficult to follow but it is a disciplined approach, starting with the very proposed purpose of the coaching program or experience itself. This presentation will provide you with information to begin (or continue) your ROI journey.

As a result of this session, participants will have:

  • Increased awareness of the importance of documenting change in the coaching space.
  • Better understanding of the basic framework for measuring change.
  • Increased awareness of the ethics of data collection and reporting.
  • Strategies on applying the basic measurement framework to your coaching practice.
  • Tips on reporting the results to the individual and the organization.
Participants will earn .75 Core Competency CCEs and .75 Resource Development CCEs for attending this webinar.

Catherine has over 30 years of experience making presentations and facilitating workshops and webinars on measurement and evaluation to coaches, nonprofit project teams and boards, and government program directors and teams. She has presented at international, national, regional and local professional association meetings and conferences.  In addition, Dr. Oleksiw has been an adjunct faculty throughout her career at different universities, teaching graduate courses in research, statistics, and assessment. She recently added the teaching of ethics to her academic portfolio.

Catherine has been an ICF-certified coach since 2013. She coaches executives and leaders of small businesses, nonprofits, the military, and federal agencies. In 2016, Catherine designed and, with a metrics team, implemented the first-year evaluation of the Rice University Doerr Institute for New Leaders which provides professional coaching to undergraduate students and coach training for the Rice community. The Doerr Institute was a 2017 Prism finalist partly because of the level of analytics collected on the program.

Her measurement expertise complements her experience in providing leadership coaching and training on strategic planning; performance management; communication; and transition from technical to supervisory, and supervisory to managerial positions. In her consulting and coaching practice, Dr. Oleksiw works with clients on aligning organizational, program and personnel outcomes.
